Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a senior Mainframe Engineer for remote work. You will design, develop, test, configure, and support mainframe technology, lead migrations, and publish roadmaps while helping deliver agile projects.

The role demands deep mainframe expertise, COBOL/CICS/SAS/MQ experience, and a wealth of archival and performance knowledge. Applicants should be able to work on a W2 basis and will receive a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, and life

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with AmTrust accounting system.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or comparable experience.
• Expert knowledge of mainframe operating systems and hardware.
• Strong knowledge of TSO and mainframe technology.
• Experience with COBOL, CICS, SAS, and MQ.
• Background in Wealth and Asset Management.
• Knowledge of software design and development best practices.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Serve as mainframe subject matter expert.
• Coordinate cross-department mainframe application migrations.
• Develop and publish mainframe language and tool roadmaps.
• Participate in agile ceremonies on an engineering squad.
• Drive architecture across multiple services and applications.
• Develop high-quality, testable code and automate processes.
• Mentor developers and enforce coding standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation for audits and handovers.
