Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, test, configure, and support mainframe technology for a financial services client. The role emphasizes operational availability, capacity analysis, and agile delivery. Remote contract opportunity with W2 employment.

Rate is $65.00 to $75.00 per hour. Must have 10+ years of mainframe experience and a Bachelor’s degree, with AmTrust knowledge.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience with mainframe systems and AmTrust accounting knowledge.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or comparable experience (20+ years).
Expert knowledge of mainframe operating systems and hardware.
Strong knowledge of TSO and mainframe technology.
Experience with COBOL, CICS, SAS, and MQ.
Background in Wealth and Asset Management.
Knowledge of software design and development best practices.
Experience with Git and GitHub.
Understanding of software development methodologies.
Strong problem solving and collaboration skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as mainframe subject matter expert.
Participate in infrastructure planning and provide insights into technology directions.
Maintain understanding of current and future infrastructure.
Document and publish mainframe directions and roadmaps.
Coordinate cross-department mainframe migrations.
Demonstrate broad or deep technical knowledge across technologies.
Stay current on IT trends and apply new concepts.
Mentor developers and enforce coding standards.
Automate processes and write maintainable code.
Partner with operations to drive service improvement.
