Qualifications

• Total of 6-7 years of claims experience with 2-4 years in Senior Casualty or equivalent complex casualty/litigation experience.
• 1 year of Litigation experience
• Proficiency in handling minor to complex litigated claims
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Proficient in working independently and making decisions
• Understanding of civil procedure standards and ability to travel

Responsibilities

• Completes claim analysis, builds discovery plan with depositions, IMEs, and recon for 1st/3rd party losses.
• Directs defense counsel with authority for resolution and manages defense costs and indemnity.
• Reviews liability, damages, coverage and risk to assess settlement authority up to $50,000.
• Collaborates with defense counsel on strategy and participates in mediations and settlement conferences.
• Manages outside counsel budgets and reviews defense expenses with billing software.
• Presents litigated case recommendations to local and executive management.
