Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Litigation Specialist for a remote role, accepting candidates nationwide (excluding Hawaii and Alaska).

You will manage litigated auto and homeowner claims from investigation through settlement, with authority to settle and direct defense strategy. Responsibilities include discovery planning, mediation participation, budget oversight for outside counsel, and presenting cases to executive management for final resolution.

Qualifications

• Total of 6-7 years of claims experience with 2-4 years in a Senior Casualty role or equivalent complex casualty/litigation experience.
• 1 year of Litigation experience
• Proficiency in handling minor to complex litigated claims
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to travel and work extended hours and weekends

Responsibilities

• Analyze claims and develop discovery plans, including depositions and IMEs for 1st and 3rd party claims.
• Interface with defense counsel to determine resolution strategy and authorize settlements.
• Review liability, damages, and risk to determine settlement authority up to $50,000.
• Collaborate with defense counsel on negotiation strategy and participate in mediations.
• Authorize and monitor budgets for outside counsel and review defense expenses.
• Present litigated case recommendations to local and executive management.
• Secure authority for resolutions at the highest levels.
