Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Litigation Specialist to manage litigated auto and homeowner claims remotely across many states. This role requires coordinating with defense counsel, directing discovery, and achieving effective settlements while controlling defense costs and indemnity.

Qualifications

• 6-7 years of claims experience with 2-4 years in Senior Casualty or equivalent
• 1 year of Litigation experience
• Proficiency in handling minor to complex litigated claims
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to travel and work extended hours/weekends
• Strong oral and written communication skills for executive management

Responsibilities

• Completes analysis of claims, including loss facts and plan; develops discovery plan with depositions and IMEs for 1st/3rd party claims
• Interacts with defense counsel, providing direction and settlement authority
• Reviews liability, damages, coverage and risk to determine settlement authority up to $50,000
• Collaborates with defense counsel on negotiation strategy and participates in mediations and settlements
• Authorizes and monitors budgets for outside counsel; analyzes defense expenses with bill review software
• Prepares and presents recommendations for litigated cases to local and executive management
• Secures authority up the chain for resolution
