Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is expanding its remote litigation team and seeks a Sr. Litigation Specialist to manage complex casualty claims from intake through settlement, including trial involvement.

You will collaborate with defense counsel, analyse liability and damages, and negotiate settlements with authority up to specific limits. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential in a remote-first, nationwide setting.

Qualifications

• 6-7 years total claims experience with 2-4 years in Senior Casualty or equivalent complex casualty/litigation experience
• 1 year of Litigation experience
• Proficiency handling minor to complex litigated claims
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements in civil procedure
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours/weekends

Responsibilities

• Completes analysis of claim, including loss facts and factors; creates discovery plan with depositions, IMEs, and expert retention for 1st/3rd party claims.
• Interacts with defense counsel; provides resolution direction and negotiates settlements.
• Reviews liability, damages, coverage and risk to determine independent settlement authority up to $50,000.
• Collaborates with defense counsel on negotiation strategy; participates in mediations and settlement conferences.
• Authorizes and monitors budget for outside counsel; analyzes defense expenses with bill-review software.
• Prepares and presents litigated-case recommendations to local and executive management at IELT level; secures authority for resolution.
