Job summary

Banner Life Insurance Company is seeking an Underwriting Consultant to analyze and classify life insurance applications. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of underwriting experience and a BS/BA degree. Strong communication skills and expertise in financial underwriting are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of underwriting experience, including large case underwriting.
• Coach & mentor less experienced underwriters with second signature responsibilities.
• Demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review life insurance applications to determine acceptability.
• Maintain relationships with brokers and communicate decisions positively.
• Approve applications for policy issue up to $5,000,000.

Skills

PC knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Knowledge of medical terminology

Ability to make real-time independent decisions

Effective communication skills

Agile & process improvement mindset

Proficient in financial underwriting

Education

BS/BA degree or applicable experience

FLMI, FALU or CLU designation preferred
