Qualifications

• 5+ years life underwriting experience with large face amount cases.
• Experience with brokerage distribution marketplace.
• Approval authority up to $5,000,000.
• FLMI, FALU and/or CLU designations preferred or progress toward these designations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex formal applications and informal quote applications within approval guidelines.
• Analyze medical and financial information to assess risk per company guidelines.
• Effectively manage change, defuse conflict and negotiate positive results.
• Take a cross-functional view of work processes and understand implications for other areas.
• Must be organized and able to manage a large caseload.
• Demonstrate superior technical underwriting knowledge and skills.
• Provide training to internal and external customers on underwriting topics.
• Interact with a sophisticated field force dealing with an upscale market.
