Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation in the United States is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java & Azure Engineer to design, build, and secure cloud-native applications. You will collaborate with product, architecture, security, QE, DevOps to deliver scalable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, review code, and establish reusable patterns while proactively addressing risks. This remote, United States–based role offers flexible work arrangements and a strong compensation package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience across web apps, APIs, data stores, and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, API development, and cloud-native design.
• Experience designing secure, maintainable, and testable software using OO principles.
• Experience building cloud-native, containerized, and event-driven solutions.
• Strong DevSecOps across CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning, source control, and deployment controls.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, infrastructure as code, cloud configuration, secrets management, and environment promotion strategies.
• Strong troubleshooting and observability skills across applications, integrations, data, pipelines, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support secure, reliable, and maintainable software aligned with approved architecture and engineering standards.
• Develop Java/Spring Boot APIs, modern web and PWA capabilities, Azure integrations, data-access components, and containerized workloads.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and quality controls, security checks, branch protections, and repeatable deployment processes.
• Apply security-by-design practices across authentication, authorization, secrets management, sensitive data, dependencies, logging, and least-privilege access.
• Mentor engineers, provide actionable code-review feedback, and establish reusable engineering patterns and development standards.
• Proactively identify technical risks and delivery roadblocks and collaborate with stakeholders to drive resolution.
