Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Principal, IT Strategy & Operations Manager to shape IT strategy, translate investments into business value, and drive disciplined execution. Lead cloud program budgeting, forecasting, governance, and executive reporting from a remote location in the U.S.

You will partner with Technology VPs, Finance, and external partners, owning cloud finance operations and delivering measurable outcomes through transformation initiatives and dashboards.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in IT strategy, technology finance, business operations, consulting, transformation, or related disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, business cases, capital and expense management, accounting, and investment governance.
• Strong knowledge of cloud economics, FinOps, cloud-provider billing, professional-services spend, procurement, invoicing, and commitment management.
• Ability to connect technology strategy to business outcomes, operational efficiency, customer value, and revenue impact.

Responsibilities

• IT strategy and business value: Define transformation priorities, roadmaps, and investment choices with business cases.
• AI and operational efficiency: Identify opportunities for AI, automation, analytics, and process improvement.
• Financial planning and governance: Manage cloud program budgets, forecasts, and governance with clear variance explanations.
• Professional services and forecasting: Coordinate funding requests, procurement, and monthly actuals for Cloud Program leadership.
• Executive & Organizational Operations: Maintain dashboards, scorecards, and portfolio reporting.
• Cross-functional follow-through: Track priorities, risks, and actions with strong financial controls.
