Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Principal, IT Strategy & Operations Manager to shape IT strategy and translate technology investments into business value. You’ll own cloud program budgeting, forecasting, governance, and executive reporting while partnering with Technology VPs, Finance, and external partners.

The role is remote in the U.S., with accountability for transforming IT to drive customer outcomes, operational performance, and top-line growth. Strong leadership and analytics are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of IT strategy, finance, operations, or transformation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and governance experience.
• Knowledge of cloud economics, FinOps, and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Define transformation priorities, roadmaps, and investment cases with Technology VPs and Finance.
• Identify AI, automation, analytics opportunities to improve productivity and decision quality.
• Manage cloud program budgets, forecasts, milestones, funding requests, and actuals.
• Coordinate professional-services funding and governance reviews; oversee procurement and contracts.
• Maintain dashboards, scorecards, and leadership-facing portfolio reporting.
• Ensure adherence to financial controls and operating processes across the program.
• Provide variance explanations and decision support for Cloud Program leadership.
