Job summary

Lumen seeks a Principal, IT Strategy & Operations Manager to partner with Technology VPs, Finance, and business leaders to shape IT strategy, translate technology investments into business value, and drive disciplined execution. You will own cloud program budgets, forecasts, governance, and executive reporting.

This senior role requires 12+ years of experience, a strong financial acumen, and expertise in cloud economics, FinOps, and procurement. Remote nationwide opportunity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive IT strategy-related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analyses.
• Knowledge of cloud economics, FinOps, cloud billing, procurement and invoicing.
• Ability to connect technology strategy to business outcomes and revenue impact.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and coordinating cross-functional work.
• Strong analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills; experience with dashboards and AI.

Responsibilities

• IT strategy and business value: define transformation priorities and investment roadmaps.
• AI and operational efficiency: identify opportunities to reduce manual work and boost productivity.
• Financial planning and governance: manage cloud program budgets, forecasts, and governance.
• Professional services and forecasting: coordinate funding requests and governance reviews.
• Executive & Organizational Operations: maintain dashboards, scorecards, and portfolio reporting.
• Lead cross-functional follow-through on priorities, risks, and actions; improve financial controls.
