Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Principal, IT Strategy & Operations Manager—remote in the United States. You will partner with Technology VPs, Finance, and leaders to shape IT strategy, manage cloud program finances, and drive disciplined execution.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on ownership of budgeting, forecasting, governance, and executive reporting across cloud programs and services.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of IT strategy, finance, or operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Tech, or Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and governance.
• Knowledge of cloud economics, FinOps, and procurement.
• Ability to connect technology strategy to business outcomes.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical, presentation, and reporting skills; familiar with dashboards and AI.

Responsibilities

• Define transformation priorities, roadmaps, and investment choices.
• Translate IT investments into measurable business value.
• Manage cloud program budgets, forecasts, milestones, funding requests, and actuals.
• Coordinate professional-services funding and procurement reviews.
• Maintain dashboards, scorecards, and portfolio reporting.
• Lead cross-functional follow-through on priorities, risks, and actions.
• Provide cloud spend analysis across AWS, Microsoft, and Google.
