Lumen is seeking a Principal IT Strategy & Operations Manager to partner with Technology VPs, Finance, and leaders to shape IT strategy and drive disciplined execution.

This senior role combines strategic planning with hands-on ownership of cloud program financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, governance, and executive reporting. Remote US location supports enterprise-wide impact on AI-ready connectivity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in IT strategy, technology finance, business operations, consulting, transformation, or related disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and investment governance.
• Strong knowledge of cloud economics and FinOps, billing, procurement, and commitment management.
• Ability to connect technology strategy to business outcomes, operational efficiency, customer value, and revenue impact.
• Experience influencing senior leaders across Technology, Finance, Procurement, AP, vendors, and business teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills with dashboards, reporting, AI, and automation.

Responsibilities

• IT strategy and business value: define transformation priorities, roadmaps, and investment choices.
• AI and operational efficiency: identify AI, automation, analytics to reduce manual effort.
• Financial planning and governance: manage cloud budgets, forecasts, funding requests, and variance explanations.
• Professional services and forecasting: coordinate funding requests, governance reviews, and monthly reporting.
• Executive & Organizational Operations: maintain dashboards, scorecards, and portfolio reporting.
• Lead cross-functional follow-through on priorities, risks, and actions with strong controls.
• Cloud budget management: reconcile cloud spend across AWS, Microsoft, and Google.
