Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Certified Sr. (IP) Acute Edits Medical Coder to work remotely across the U.S. You will correct ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG, and CPT/ICD-10 codes, ensuring chart accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines.

Role requires AHIMA/AAPC credentials, inpatient coding experience, OCE/MUE/NCCI knowledge, and strong Excel/EMR proficiency. Excellent attention to detail and timely provider feedback are essential.

Qualifications

• AHIMA and/or AAPC certification (CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CIC, ROCC, CPC, COC, CPC-P) required.
• 3+ years inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding with DRG experience.
• 2+ years with OCE, MUE and NCCI classification and reimbursement.
• Proficiency with Excel and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for inpatient services and DRG impact.
• Identify CPT and ICD-10 coding for outpatient services.
• Understand APC codes and abstract data during chart review as needed.
• Provide documentation feedback to physicians and query when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in department meetings.
