Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team working on electric transmission projects for large utilities. This role focuses on HV and EHV overhead and underground systems, applying standards like NESC and ASCE to design efforts.

The position is 100% remote with the requirement to reside in Michigan, with opportunities for occasional travel to client sites. You will lead technical work, review designs, prepare bidding documents, and collaborate with planning,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 5+ years in electric utility transmission design.
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans, and packages.
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE; construction specs and procurement processes.
Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
Ability to work in a team and independently; strong client communication.
Leadership experience and supervision responsibilities (Senior/SME).

Responsibilities

Design HV and EHV overhead and underground transmission systems.
Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement packages.
Interface with clients and project teams across planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management.
Apply standards to designs and review technical requirements.
Support travel or in-person work as needed.
