Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering electric transmission design for HV and EHV systems. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI standards and prepare bids, plans, specs, and construction documents while coordinating with clients and project teams.

The role requires 5+ years in transmission design, strong leadership, and the ability to work remotely with residency in Michigan. Some travel may be required to support projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 5+ years in electric utility transmission design
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models and construction packages
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; procurement processes
Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
Ability to work in a team and independently; leadership experience required for senior level

Responsibilities

Design HV/EHV overhead and underground transmission systems per standards
Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement documents
Lead and mentor team members; interface with clients and project teams
Travel to client sites as needed and coordinate with planners/environment/construction teams
