Job summary

Whip Around is seeking an experienced Head of HR to own our U.S. and international HR operations remotely, reporting to the CFO. You will build and scale HR systems, payroll, policies, and controls for a 70-person organization across the U.S. and New Zealand.

This player-coach role involves transitioning from external contractors to in-house leadership, shaping processes, documentation, and governance to support growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience including primary or senior HR responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. employment practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own HR infrastructure end to end: systems, payroll, policies, and controls.
• Transition U.S. contractor work in-house; build scalable operating model.
• Define processes, responsibilities, and documentation standards.
• Oversee U.S. payroll (Deel) and collaborate with Finance on reconciliations.
• Develop HR metrics and report to CFO and executive team.
