Job summary

Veeva Systems is seeking a Senior Healthcare Data Informaticist to design, manage, and maintain reference data assets in the TRL, ensuring high-quality, standardized healthcare data for Therapeutic areas.

You will work with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver scalable, interoperable data solutions while mentoring junior teammates and ensuring regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant health informatics or life sciences field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with healthcare data systems and coding vocabularies.
• Deep expertise in drug classification and coding systems (NDC, RxNorm, ATC).
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS.
• Strong SQL skills and data modeling experience with large datasets.
• Experience with payer data and SME in healthcare data standards.

Responsibilities

• Curate, standardize, and validate medical and pharmacy claims data.
• Map drugs to indications using ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, NDC, RxNorm, ATC.
• Design and document taxonomies, hierarchies, and vocabularies.
• Develop business rules and validation routines for analytics.
• Lead data integration and modeling efforts with standards.
• Troubleshoot data issues ensuring integrity and HIPAA compliance.
• Produce documentation (ERDs, flowcharts, diagrams) for processes.
• Translate clinical payer data concepts into actionable insights.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.
