Job summary

Veeva Systems is seeking a Senior Healthcare Data Informaticist to design, manage, and maintain reference data assets in the TRL, ensuring high-quality, standardized data for therapeutic area frameworks. You will collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver scalable, interoperable healthcare data solutions.

You will curate medical and pharmacy data, map coding standards, develop validation rules, and lead data integration efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Public Health, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with healthcare data systems, clinical vocabularies, coding systems, and payer data.
• Deep expertise in drug classification and coding systems (NDC, RxNorm, ATC).
• Advanced knowledge of diagnostic and procedural code sets (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS).
• Experience with payer data (commercial and government) and SME experience.

Responsibilities

• Curate, standardize, and validate medical and pharmacy claims data across Compass products.
• Map drugs to indications and therapeutic areas using ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, NDC, RxNorm, and ATC.
• Design and document hierarchical structures, taxonomies, and vocabularies for therapeutic areas and diagnoses.
• Develop business rules, validation routines, and clinical logic for reliable analytics.
• Lead data integration and modeling with healthcare data standards for interoperable assets.
• Troubleshoot data issues, ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and HIPAA compliance.
• Produce documentation (ERDs, flowcharts, diagrams) to communicate processes.
• Translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior team members to strengthen capabilities.
