Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Health Information Management professional to support the HIM team in coordinating patient records and ensuring accuracy across electronic and paper systems.

The role requires six years in office settings with healthcare exposure, knowledge of EMR software, and strong written and verbal communication. This is a nationwide remote opportunity with virtual hiring eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of Health Information Management or Healthcare Operations Applications procedures.
• Must successfully complete required training within 90 days of employment.
• Must operate multi-line phones, faxes, and copiers.
• Must communicate clearly with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Must demonstrate good decision-making and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating the Health Information Management Team, including work assignment and training.
• Utilize EMR and paper records to create, update, verify, and track patient records.
• Review documentation in EMR and paper records to process requests for medical records.
• Audit records for completeness and accuracy and document quality issues.
• Coordinate workflows, assignments, and deliverables for the HIM Team as directed by management.
• Prepare routine statistical reports as directed by the manager.
• Support quality improvement efforts within HIM workflows and adherence to policies.
