Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Health Information Management Coder Senior in Irving, TX. The role focuses on inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding accuracy, data abstraction, and collaboration with the HIM team to support accurate billing and reduce denials.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of inpatient coding in acute care, RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA credentials, and proficiency with Epic, Meditech, and other EMR tools. This is a full-time, on-site position with standard 5-day work weeks.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ICD-10-CM/PCS coding with 95%+ accuracy for inpatient encounters.
• Abstract data into CHRISTUS Health EMR systems accurately.
• Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Improvement teams to ensure complete documentation.
• Query providers for missing or unclear documentation.
• Participate in internal/external audits and improve coding processes.
• Work remotely with minimal supervision.
