Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join an in-house incubation game team, shaping gameplay foundations across prototypes for the Netflix platform and the Netflix Game Controller. You will work in Unreal Engine 5 with C++, Blueprints, Gen AI, and custom tools to deliver playable prototypes, collaborating with designers and engineers at pace.

The role requires shipping multiple titles, strong optimization and debugging skills, and the ability to adapt across genres from kids' games

Qualifications

• Proven experience prototyping and shipping two or more titles as a Gameplay Programmer/Engineer across varied genres.
• Excellent technical knowledge in C++, optimization, math, and debugging with Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprint.
• Strong gameplay and design sensibilities; ability to shape systems with designers and translate ideas into playable features.

Responsibilities

• Build Across Genres: contribute to projects spanning many different genres, adapting engineering approach to fit the genre and platform.
• Drive Feature Areas End-to-End: own multiple complex gameplay features from prototype to polished implementation.
• Prototype in UE5: translate design intent into functional systems using Unreal Engine 5, C++, Blueprints, Gen AI, and custom tools.
• Optimize & Debug: profile, optimize, and debug code and content to keep prototypes performant on the cloud streaming platform and other targets.
• Collaboration Catalyst: partner with designers, artists, producers, and engineers; participate in code reviews and create tests and docs.
