Job summary

McFadyen Digital is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Developer with a strong backend focus for a fast-moving, headless commerce project. The role involves building composable services on commercetools, integrating Mirakl dropship, and delivering production-ready APIs within a defined engagement.

The position is a 3–4 month contract, full-time, fully remote with overlap with US hours. Candidates should be proficient in Node.js/Java, React, and cloud/CDI patterns and able to contribute to frontend work

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus in production eCommerce environments.
• Hands-on experience building on commercetools (APIs, projects, extensions, subscriptions, and headless patterns).
• Experience implementing Mirakl dropship model including seller/catalog/offer ingestion and workflows.
• Strong integration expertise: REST/GraphQL, webhooks, event-driven architecture, and connecting commerce platforms to OMS/ERP/PIM and payment/shipping providers.
• Full-stack capability with frontend skills (React/TypeScript/JavaScript) to contribute UI work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs on commercetools for catalog, cart, checkout, and order flows.
• Configure Mirakl dropship capabilities and integrate with commercetools and downstream systems.
• Develop robust integrations between commercetools, Mirakl, and third-party systems using REST, GraphQL, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
• Deliver production-ready code with tests, error handling, logging, and documentation for handoff.
• Collaborate with architects, product, and frontend engineers, and contribute to frontend work when project requires it.
