Job summary

McFadyen seeks a Senior Developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade commerce experiences on Shopify Plus and BigCommerce Enterprise, with a strong emphasis on headless and composable architectures.

You will work across Shopify Hydrogen, BigCommerce Catalyst, Next.js, and React, applying SSR/SSG/ISR as appropriate, and bring AI-assisted development into daily workflow to accelerate delivery while safeguarding security and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with production Shopify Plus and BigCommerce Enterprise experience.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Next.js, GraphQL, REST APIs, and headless commerce.
• Experience delivering enterprise B2B commerce features and integrations.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tools while maintaining architecture and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade eCommerce solutions on Shopify Plus and BigCommerce Enterprise.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools for exploration, code generation, testing, and documentation with security review.
• Architect headless/composable storefronts using Hydrogen, Catalyst, Next.js, and React with SSR/SSG/ISR as needed.
• Contribute to reusable accelerators and coding best practices across delivery teams.
• Partner with clients to translate requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions and lead delivery.
