Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable web apps and AI-enabled platform capabilities across frontend and backend. You will work with Vue.js, Java Spring Boot, and Python, integrating AI features and cloud services in Azure.

Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is supported, with cross-functional collaboration across product, security, DevOps, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience across frontend and backend.
• 3+ years of Vue.js and 3+ years of Java/Spring Boot for RESTful APIs.
• 3+ years of Python for backend development and AI-enabled services.
• 3+ years with ORM frameworks (JPA/Hibernate) and relational database design.
• 3+ years building RESTful APIs across distributed systems.
• 3+ years deploying applications in Azure or another major cloud.
• 3+ years with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• 3+ years secure web/API development (OWASP Top 10).
• 3+ years automated testing and agile cross-functional teams.
• 1+ years AI-powered features using LLMs, embeddings, or RAG.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end features across frontend (Vue.js) and backend (Java Spring Boot, Python).
• Build secure, responsive UI and robust APIs; ensure observability and scalability.
• Develop AI-enabled product features using LLMs, semantic search, embeddings, and RAG.
• Implement data ingestion, embedding generation, vector indexing, and AI-driven workflows.
• Collaborate with product, security, DevOps, and cross-functional teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deploy to Azure (App Service, AKS, SQL).
• Troubleshoot, review code, and improve reliability, performance, and security.
