Job summary

Whistic is seeking a Senior Finance & Accounting Manager to serve as a strategic finance partner, owning core accounting processes while modeling and influencing decisions. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience spanning both accounting and finance/FP&A.
• Ownership of monthly close, reconciliations, tax compliance, and core accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Lean, one-person finance team able to switch between transactional work and strategic analysis.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams such as Sales, RevOps, People, or GTM.
• Strong MS Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills.
• Experience with Rillet, Rippling, and Databricks is a plus.
• Excellent communication; able to present analysis to non-finance stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or equivalent a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statement prep, ensuring accuracy.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR and vendor/expense management.
• Handle state and local tax compliance (sales tax, franchise tax, business registrations).
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, People, and Leadership to shape financial decisions.
• Build and maintain budgets and financial models.
• Own cash flow visibility and monthly/quarterly forecasting for leadership.
• Prepare financial reporting and analysis for leadership and board meetings.
• Identify and implement process improvements as the company scales.
• Be curious about using AI and modern tools to work smarter.
• Partner with People & Culture on payroll approvals, compensation, and tax account management.
