Job summary
Rockwell Automation is seeking a Senior Field Support Technician to install, start up, maintain and operate automation systems. This role can be performed remotely from home or a regional office with up to 50% travel to customer sites, primarily in Southern Central Valley California (Bakersfield area).
The technician will support Rockwell power and control systems, drive stacks, MCCs, HMIs, and networked architectures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 6+ years of experience in LV/MV drives, MCCs, HMIs or controllers.
- Experience with EtherNet, ControlNet and DeviceNet networks.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site installation, startup, commissioning and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair power and control systems up to 600 VAC / 800 VDC.
- Perform diagnostics, optimization and lifecycle support for drive systems.
- Support PLC/HMI programming and documentation efforts.
- Coordinate with OTTO AMR systems and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Act as liaison between customer, OTTO Motors, and Rockwell Automation.
