Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for our Civil Construction division. This remote role requires EST or CST, with occasional travel; you will produce self-perform heavy civil estimates from plans and specs.

You will lead takeoffs, quantify risks, source subcontractor pricing, and prepare inquiries to clients. Proficiency with Bid2Win and HCSS Heavy Bid is preferred; a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in heavy civil estimating are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• 10+ years of estimating experience in the heavy civil construction industry.
• Experience estimating federal projects preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
• Experience with Bid2Win and HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates based on project size, scope, and mix.
• Provide quantity takeoff data and a detailed list of materials.
• Identify and analyze subcontractor/vender quotes for comprehensive coverage.
• Assess risks and develop plans to address them.
• Prepare and submit inquiries to clients regarding drawings and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with field and office teams to prepare estimates.
• Meet milestones for reviews to ensure timely submissions.
• Support constructability reviews and alternative approaches as needed.
• Vet subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure best value.
• Interface with Operations and adapt estimates post-award as needed.
