Job summary

Branch Civil, Inc. is seeking a collaborative Senior Estimator with a thorough knowledge of heavy civil and site development across all disciplines. The role requires self-motivation, commitment to quality, and the ability to lead and mentor the estimating team.

Responsibilities include site visits, bid preparation, risk assessment, and presenting estimates in bid reviews with senior management. Travel is expected up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience in an estimating role for pursuits of $20M+.
• Minimum of 3 years in a senior level estimating role.
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid is required.
• Proficiency with Agtek earthwork software is required.
• Strong math skills with a thorough understanding of geometry.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping and bidding of construction projects.
• Visit sites to understand site conditions.
• Develop bid strategies and review estimates with PMs and management.
• Mentor junior estimators and lead estimating teams on select projects.
• Identify constructability issues and value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare preliminary budgets and handoffs to operations.
