Job summary

Confidential Employer is seeking an experienced ERISA attorney to lead complex retirement plan corrections and advise on ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance. You will work with plan administrators and professionals to implement corrections under EPCRS and support clients through IRS and DOL examinations.

The role offers remote work within the Atlanta area, a competitive salary in the $170k–$210k range, and a bonus and benefits package designed for senior practitioners in employee benefits

Qualifications

• Active attorney bar license in any U.S. state.
• 3+ years in ERISA or employee benefits law.
• 3+ years of direct retirement plan corrections and compliance remediation experience.
• Hands-on EPCRS experience (SCP and VCP).
• Strong understanding of qualified retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)).
• Analytical, research, writing, and client advisory skills.
• DOL/EBSA experience or fiduciary corrections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex retirement plan correction projects from issue identification to resolution.
• Advise clients on ERISA, IRC, qualified retirement plans, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and resolve plan failures related to 401(k) contributions, eligibility, distributions, testing, and administration.
• Develop and implement corrections under IRS EPCRS (SCP and VCP).
• Prepare legal analyses, correction calculations, amendments, and client recommendations.
• Guide clients through IRS and DOL examinations and compliance remediations.
• Collaborate with plan administrators, recordkeepers, actuaries, and other retirement professionals.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to practice growth.
