Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring a Senior Software Engineer Integrations for the Enterprise API Services team. You will build and support enterprise APIs, partnering with application teams across the organization to design and deliver integration solutions.

You will work across the full API lifecycle and support production environments through incident response, release management, and deployments, influencing API performance, governance, and platform health.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience (4 years in corporate environment).
5 years - Systems and programming experience required.
1 year - IT concepts, development methodology, terminology, and standards required.
1 year - Expert knowledge of at least one programming language used at BCBST.

Responsibilities

Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
Devises or modifies application systems to optimize capacity, operating time, and response time.
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
Develops and implements program/system test plans with data verification methods.
Responds to system failures and performance events to reduce downtime and recurrence.
Acts as expert technical resource to development staff through the lifecycle.
