Job summary

BCBST BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer – Integrations for the Enterprise API Services team.

You’ll build and support enterprise APIs, connect critical apps, and own the API lifecycle from design to deployment, while ensuring reliability and governance across the platform. The role requires strong API and ACE/API Connect experience, healthcare domain familiarity, and participation in an on-call rotation with EST hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience.
• Equivalent experience defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment.
• 5 years of systems and programming experience required; 1 year in IT concepts and standards; 1 year expert in at least one core programming language used at BCBST.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
• Develops and implements program/system test plans and data verification methods.
• Responds to system failures and performance events to reduce downtime and recurrence.
• Acts as expert technical resource to development staff throughout the project lifecycle.
