Upstart, the AI lending marketplace, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead 12+ engineers across two squads in the Servicing domain. You’ll translate business needs into resilient, scalable technical solutions while partnering with Product, Risk, and Operations.

You’ll drive architectural clarity, foster high-performing teams, and shape multi-quarter tech strategies that balance speed, reliability, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years software engineering experience.
• 4–7 years in engineering management.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, and systems design.
• Experience leading teams in regulated fintech domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple engineering teams for Servicing products.
• Define and execute multi-quarter technical strategies.
• Partner with Product and other leaders to translate needs into scalable solutions.
• Drive architectural clarity across complex systems.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineers and engineering leaders.
• Establish visibility into priorities, delivery risks, and roadmaps.
