Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Senior Manager, Home Lending Servicing Operations, to define and execute the servicing strategy as we scale our mortgage business. You will oversee outsourced partners, design a scalable operating model, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve borrower experience, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in residential mortgage servicing operations.
• 4+ years of experience leading managers and operational teams.
• Experience managing outsourced mortgage servicing vendors or BPO relationships.
• Experience developing servicing operating models, processes, and governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated expertise in mortgage servicing functions including payment processing and escrow.
• Experience partnering with Risk, Compliance, Finance, Investor Services, or Capital Markets in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and execution of Home Lending Servicing Operations and servicing roadmap.
• Oversee third-party servicing (BPO) partners and governance routines.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to design servicing capabilities and automation.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Investor Services, Finance, Legal, and Capital Markets for regulatory alignment.
• Use metrics to identify trends and drive improvements in servicing workflows.
• Provide SME on mortgage servicing processes including payments and escrow.
• Develop controls, reporting, and vendor governance to mitigate risk.
• Lead and develop operations leaders with a culture of accountability.
