Job summary

PENN Interactive is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead one or more software teams delivering the next generation online gaming and entertainment platforms. You will mentor engineers, align roadmaps with product managers, and ensure scalable, reliable delivery.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in software development, 5+ years in leadership, and hands-on experience with Kafka, distributed systems, Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a leadership or management role combined with at least 10 years of experience in software development.
• Experience leading teams of 10 engineers or more.
• Experience with Kafka, distributed systems and real-time streaming processing; container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day activities of one or more software development teams, providing goal setting, mentorship, coaching, leadership, guidance and performance management and feedback.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to build the roadmap, flesh out requirements, and ensure the team executes.
• Ensure development deliverables are documented and key decisions are recorded in accordance with the design and development process.
• Help with hiring initiatives across the engineering department.
• Assist in identifying process problems and contribute to continual improvement of design, development processes and system architecture.
