We are seeking a veteran software engineer to join the Promotions team and help design, scale, and own high-impact features in a remote, US-wide role. You will work on GraphQL APIs, scalable services, and multi-client platforms, while mentoring

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, software design.
• Production systems experience at scale; performance tracing and load testing.
• On-call rotations and end-to-end release ownership.
• Clean code architecture and software craftsmanship.
• Experience with modern web frameworks and API development (Phoenix, Rails, FastAPI, Laravel, Node).
• 2+ years designing GraphQL schemas for multi-client surfaces.
• Experience building multi-client/white-label platforms with geo-based routing.
• Solid PostgreSQL and MySQL knowledge.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Proficient in Git workflows and modern tooling.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and asynchronous eventing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS).
• Nice to have: Elixir, hexagonal architecture, DDD, open source contributions, startup exposure, sports/esports passion.

Responsibilities

• Design, scale, and performance-tune GraphQL APIs and low-latency services.
• Own high-scope technical problems, draft proposals, present to leadership.
• Deliver end-to-end features in a collaborative agile/scrum environment.
• Identify bottlenecks and risks to improve platform scalability.
• Set up monitoring and alerting (DataDog) for owned systems.
• Mentor engineers across teams via specs, pairing, and code reviews.
• Other duties as required.
