Job summary

Relativity in Des Moines, IA seeks a Senior Employee Relations Specialist to lead complex ER cases end-to-end, partner with Legal, and advise HRBPs to protect the business and culture as we scale.

This remote/hybrid role offers a strategic partner to senior HRBPs, with global policy consistency and rigorous documentation. The position emphasizes investigations, performance processes, risk mitigation, and enablement across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in Employee Relations or HR compliance.
• Proven experience leading workplace investigations from intake to resolution.
• Working knowledge of multi-state employment law and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage high-risk cases with discretion and sound judgment.
• Strong written communication for clear, legally defensible documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end investigations into complex employee relations matters with structured interviews and evidence synthesis.
• Partner with Legal to manage risk, escalation thresholds, and compliance requirements.
• Advise on high-risk performance cases, including PIPs, coaching plans, and involuntary separations.
• Drive consistency in disciplinary actions and fairness across managers and teams.
• Analyze ER data to identify patterns and drive improvements to playbooks and workflows.
• Coach managers on feedback delivery and documentation; escalate ER matters as needed.
• Provide real-time case consultation for ambiguous or sensitive situations.
