Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer for Interiors Services & Specialty Products to lead electrical systems on aircraft seating programs. You will develop, integrate, and validate seat electronics, harnessing, and in-flight entertainment, ensuring design integrity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 5 years’ experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years.
  • U.S. Person status required for access to ITAR/EAR information or hardware.
  • Experience leading teams and cross-functional engineering groups.
  • Experience with electrical system integration, validation testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency with digital engineering tools such as Teamcenter 14, Siemens NX, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and vendor component datasheets.
  • Experience creating technical documentation including block diagrams, cable/harness drawings, parts lists, and installation drawings.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments using multimeters, oscilloscopes and related test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the electrical lead on aircraft seating programs from kickoff through completion, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and meeting requirements.
  • Develop, integrate, and validate electrical systems including seat actuation, lighting, comfort, and In-Flight Entertainment systems.
  • Create and maintain system block diagrams, pin-to-pin wiring diagrams, harness drawings, 3D routing models and 2D installation drawings.
  • Lead design and peer reviews and present technical solutions during customer milestone reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into complex seat assemblies.
  • Support certification activities for OEM and regulatory compliance (Airbus, Boeing, FAA, EASA).
