Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Electrical CAD/BIM Specialist III to support our Power Delivery Practice. The role involves creating and managing electrical design sets, 3D models, and construction drawings for substations and transmission projects.

You will work in a collaborative team, coordinating with engineers on a variety of high- and medium-voltage projects across the U.S. The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in engineering with 4+ years of CAD/BIM experience, proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD/MicroStation,

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or equivalent
  • Experience in high voltage electrical CAD/BIM design
  • Preferred: Masters degree in Engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain complete electrical design sets using CAD drawings and 3D models
  • Analyze issues, coordinate with engineering staff, and develop solutions
  • Develop and manage 3D models for electrical systems (substation layouts, conduit routing, cable trays)
  • Produce accurate construction drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Revit
  • Revise drawings based on feedback, RFIs, change orders, and site markups
  • Ensure drawings meet company/client standards, codes, and best practices (NEC, IEEE)
  • Maintain version control and file management for CAD and models
  • Provide training and support on BIM systems to design staff
  • Assist in quality control with self-checks and peer reviews
