Job summary

Vida Health is seeking a Sr. Director of Engineering Operations & Security to lead test strategy, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience, including 4+ years leading multiple teams.
• Direct ownership of DevOps, SRE, platform, or engineering operations at scale (CI/CD, IaC, cloud).
• Experience owning customer-facing production operations with real SLAs and consequences when they slip.
• Demonstrated incident management leadership for production systems and on-call improvement.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, PCI) with security program ownership.
• Proven ability to restructure a team inherited from elsewhere and drive lasting change.
• Breadth across quality engineering, infrastructure, corporate IT, security, and customer-facing ops.

Responsibilities

• Define and own test strategy, CI/CD, IaC, cloud platform, and developer environments.
• Set quality gates and deployment practices to balance speed and safety.
• Drive improvements in developer productivity, build reliability, and time-to-recovery.
• Oversee corporate IT, identity/access management, endpoints, and SaaS security.
• Act as Vida’s Security Officer with policy ownership, risk assessment, and incident response.
• Lead security diligence with customers, audits, and questionnaires during sales cycles.
• Build the security roadmap and hire the required depth for the program.
• Manage end-to-end client data operations and data feed reliability and automation.
• Manage Tier 2/3 escalations with clear SLAs and CS leadership alignment.
• Transition the team from support to an engineering-focused function with tooling and standards.
• Own incident management for customer-visible issues, including on-call rotations and postmortems.
• Define shared incident processes and health metrics across teams.
• Develop leaders and engineers and ensure engineering ownership of the security program.
