Job summary

Ad Hoc is a technology company delivering digital services to federal agencies. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer IV — Operational Resilience, Observability & SRE for a fully remote role supporting federal civilian programs.

You will lead monitoring, observability, and incident response, and drive improvements across AWS, CI/CD, and SRE practices. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in DevOps/SRE, deep AWS experience, Terraform IaC, Docker and Kubernetes, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

8+ years in DevOps/SRE with federal or federal-like environments is preferred.
Strong knowledge of AWS and IaC (Terraform) and Git/GitLab in production.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and security gates.
Proven ability to design reliable, scalable systems with observability.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate monitoring/observability tooling for real-time health and performance.
Build dashboards tracking latency, traffic, errors, and saturation.
Lead incident response with strict SLAs and post-incident analyses.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and cross-region replication.
Configure centralized alerting and incident tooling; manage deployments and cost optimization.
Support recruiting by evaluating assignments and assisting with interviews.
