Job summary

Foley is seeking a highly skilled Database Architect/Engineer to own and optimize our AWS-based data warehouse environment, including Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift. You will drive reliability, security, and performance, partnering with Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to align database solutions with business needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing production database environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing, and HA/DR
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, including Amazon Redshift
• Proven experience managing database security, access controls, and permissions in regulated or security-conscious environments
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Infrastructure, Engineering, and leadership teams
• Demonstrated AI fluency and curiosity, with experience using automation or AI-enabled tools to improve reliability, monitoring, or efficiency

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
• Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift environments.
• Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies that meet business SLAs.
• Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
• Own database security across platforms, including user access, roles, permissions, encryption, and auditing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to align database solutions with product and business needs.
