Job summary

The State of Maryland is seeking a Senior Data and Performance Manager to join the Governor’s Office of Performance Improvement in Annapolis, with teleworking flexibility. You will lead cross-agency performance initiatives using data analytics to improve public services and operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Chief Performance Officer, you will collaborate with agency leaders, conduct analyses, and translate complex data into clear recommendations for executive decision-making across state

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication for executives.
• Proficiency in data visualization and AI tools.
• Experience in performance management and public administration.
• Experience with government agencies or large institutions preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Lead performance management projects across agencies.
• Collaborate with agency leadership to guide state-wide operations.
• Analyze data and build analytical strategies to inform decisions.
• Coordinate data systems and working groups with the administration.
• Test hypotheses and predict outcomes using appropriate software.
• Partner with data and performance leads to advance data-driven decisions.
• Support Chief and Deputy Chief Performance Officer with data-driven decisions.
