Job summary

Akumin is a leading outpatient radiology and oncology services provider enhancing analytics with a new enterprise data platform. The Senior Data Engineer will develop data pipelines and governance to enable rapid access to data for decision-making and AI initiatives.

You will implement robust ETL/ELT processes, collaborate across data teams, and support a compliant, scalable data architecture across cloud platforms and healthcare datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Management / ETL / ELT / Data Warehousing.
• Experience writing Data Quality routines, cleansing data and MDM concepts.
• Hands-on design/implementation of data pipelines and ELT/ETL (Fivetran, DBT).
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and services (BigQuery, S3, Snowflake).
• Strong SQL and T-SQL; scripting languages like Python/JavaScript.
• Experience with agile delivery; healthcare/domain regulatory exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, reporting, and transformation.
• Design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines with Python/Google tooling and standard tooling.
• Architect and deploy data models and production data processes.
• Build data pipelines that ingest, cleanse, transform, and publish data from diverse sources.
• Collaborate with data asset managers, architects, and leads to ensure data is fit for use.
