Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale the enterprise data platform to support analytics and AI. You will own data collection processes, ensure data integrity, and enable rapid access for decision‑making across the company.

The role involves designing data pipelines and ETL/ELT tooling, coordinating with data asset managers and leads, and contributing to data governance and quality initiatives. Remote work is supported for the 48 contiguous United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Management / ETL / ELT / Data Warehousing.
• Experience with Data Quality routines and MDM.
• Hands-on data pipelines design and ELT/ETL with Fivetran, DBT.
• Cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) and services (BigQuery, S3, Snowflake).
• Strong SQL and T‑SQL knowledge.
• Scripting in Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python/Google and tooling.
• Architect and deploy new data models and data processes in production.
• Build data pipelines from diverse sources and assemble large data sets.
• Collaborate with data asset managers and leads to ensure fit-for-use data.
• Identify, document and implement internal process improvements.
