Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and operate the enterprise data platform for analytics and AI. You will design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, ensure data quality and governance, and enable data scientists and decision-makers access to trusted data across the organization.

Responsibilities include developing complex SQL queries, implementing data models, and partnering with specialists to extend data stores.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data-related field required
• 5+ years in Data Management / ETL / ELT / Data Warehousing
• Experience with data quality routines and MDM
• Hands-on data pipelines (ETL/ELT) with tooling
• Cloud platform experience (GCP, AWS, Azure) and services
• Strong SQL/T-SQL skills; scripting (Python/JS)
• Experience with agile methods and healthcare/regulated domains

Responsibilities

• Develop SQL queries for data extraction, transformation and reporting
• Design/implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines with Python/Google tools
• Contribute to coding standards and reusable services
• Architect and deploy data models and production data processes
• Build data pipelines from diverse sources and publish cleaned data
• Assemble large data sets meeting business requirements
• Collaborate with data asset managers and architects to ensure fit-for-use data
• Document and implement internal process improvements
• Other duties as assigned by management
