Job summary

SHI One is an exciting team within the Advanced Solutions Group of SHI that is building new digital experiences for our internal users, customers and partners. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of solutions focused on data engineering and ETL workflows.

As a Sr. Software Engineer - Data, you will work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and help them achieve outcomes with your solutions and guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• 10 years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems that support critical business operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Excellent spoken and written communication.
• Ability to present ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to shift priorities and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Strong problem prevention and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive organizational data strategy, including data model designs and data warehouses.
• Coach team members through code and design reviews for integration.
• Ship high-quality data solutions and maintain technical excellence.
• Coordinate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for smooth data systems.
• Extend and support a dataengineering environment focusing on developer experience.
• Recommend continuous improvements to data and ETL processes.
• Optimize end-to-end data architecture from tech selection to testing.
• Create and maintain technical docs, architecture diagrams, and visualizations.
• Review best practices around data architecture with internal teams.
