Job summary

SHI One, within SHI's Advanced Solutions Group, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and develop data engineering and ETL workflows. You will collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to meet business goals, research data sources, and guide integration and centralization of data across platforms.

You will lead architectural design, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvement in data operations and analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems supporting critical operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Excellent communication, both spoken and written, and active listening.
• Ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands.
• Strong independent and collaborative work capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Help drive our data strategy and design data models, warehouses, and analytics systems.
• Coach team members through code and design reviews to ensure quality and standards.
• Lead by example by shipping high-quality, maintainable solutions.
• Coordinate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for smooth data operations.
• Support a data engineering environment focused on developer experience and efficiency.
• Recommend improvements to existing data and ETL processes.
• Contribute to end-to-end data architecture across technology, security, and testing.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Review data architecture best practices with the team.
