Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Real Estate Accountant / Accounting Manager for a hands-on role in Atlanta. You will handle property and partnership accounting, owner reporting, waterfall calculations, and MRI or Yardi systems.

This position supports succession planning within a privately held real estate owner/developer, involves multi-entity accounting for retail and mixed-use properties, and offers a long-term opportunity in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate.
• Public accounting foundation highly desirable.
• Experience with partnership accounting, owner reporting, and waterfall calculations.
• Experience with retail, mixed-use, or commercial properties; MRI/Yardi proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare owner and investor reporting packages, partnership allocations, and capital account reconciliations.
• Perform waterfall calculations, preferred returns, and investor distributions.
• Handle accounting for grocery-anchored retail centers, restaurant tenants, and mixed-use developments.
• Oversee CAM reconciliations, property expenses, and tenant recoveries.
• Support development accounting, construction-in-progress, and intercompany transactions.
• Collaborate with ownership and leadership through succession planning.
